Trolley Bus Overhead Wire Condition

 

With the new measurement system of DTK - Deutzer Technische Kohle GmbH is able to record the wear, torsion and shock on the trolley bus overhead wire. The overhead line is recorded by two laser units and the form is calculated by triangulation.
By comparing the new overhead line profile with the recorded form the wear can be calculated. This measurement allows to give concrete informations about the condition of the overhead line and
about the time when the overhead line needs to be replaced. You'll also get information where critical points are in the overhead line.

The picture above shows the recorded shape of the overhead line overlayed on the new-overhead-line-shape (RI120).
The assembled shape is calculated by the two light section pictured (the 2 pictures on the bottom).
A camera records the behavior of the measuring head on the overhead line.
